Green Energy

Here at Bowood Park we are doing our bit to reduce our carbon footprint. We have our own biomass boiler which is fueled by woodchip and produces an efficient heat source with vastly reduced carbon output.

We also have our own wind turbine which is situated at the top of the driving range that provides the electricity source to the main building. Being in a high altitude location we experience strong winds on a regular basis which increases our energy efficiency further.

Going Green on the Course

Our efforts for green energy don’t just lie solely for the clubhouse, we are also focusing on ways of saving energy on the golf course. We have installed a pump system which is powered by kinetic energy to draw water from the low lying ponds on the course to our 18th pond which filters into our irrigation reservoir. This reduces our mains water usage and provides a green energy source for irrigation. Finally we have solar panels on the roof of our driving range capturing sunlight energy. Our plans to continue our green energy efforts remain a high priority for Bowood Park Hotel and Golf Club.
